Why Kalberg?
The main reason why Kalberg is perfect for energy-intensive businesses is that Statnett has chosen to build its new electrical hub for the southern part of Western Norway here. Construction is now underway, and it will be completed in 2024. The new facility will be supplied by three separate power lines, from Lysebotn, Tonstad and Åna-Sira.
Kalberg Holding will work to facilitate forward-looking industry and other relevant businesses, such as data centres, battery factories, seafood production and other innovative activities.
In addition to the secure power supply, this area has multiple regional fibre backbones, ensuring stable and rapid internet.
